Homework of Photography (10/7)

I went to Jardin du Palais Royal and Jardin des Tuileries. I took the first picture in Jardin du Palais Royal and other two pictures in Jardin des Tuileries.

In the first picture, I captured the usual scene in the garden with three girls chatting with bread and the sculpture on which 4 pigeons rested. As the basic technique of photography, I decided to divide the pic into three horizontal pieces by two lines of the top of  the grey roof and the upper side of the hedge just behind the girls. Also I divided the pic into three vertical pieces with two lines of the sculpture and the girl in the middle of them. Also, I focused on the rhomboid the 4 pigeons on the sculpture shaped and some kind of pentagon the three girls and 2 pigeons on the ground shaped. So there are not only the lines dividing the pic into 9 squares, there is a rhomboid and pentagon. At last, the interesting is that there are 4 figures we can find in this scene, 1 sculpture, 2 pigeons on the ground, 3 girls eating bread and chatting and 4 pigeons on the sculpture. Moreover, in the upper right side, 1sculpture + 4 pigeons = 5 things and in the lower left side, 2 pigeons + 3 girls = 5 things. Therefore, I think this picture is well balanced.

Jardin du palais Royal

In this picture, I captured a woman who was sitting in the middle of a tree-lined road. This picture is symmetrical and we can feel the depth of this road. Of course, I don’t know what she was thinking about and why she was sitting in the middle alone. There was no one around her. In this picture, the leaves have already turned into red and yellow and some have already fallen. However, there is an exception. The leaves in the middle at which she was looking remains green. Perhaps, she missed the hot, green leaves’ season which gives us the energy of lives and enthusiasm. The back of her, the red and yellow leaves and the fallen leaves give us the impression of sadness, calmness, farewell, coldness. A lot of these hints take us to the not positive feelings. I thought that she is the symbol of our feeling of missing the fresh season or our desire to be fresh and fine forever.

Jardin des Tuileries

In the last picture, I captured one empty chair and fallen leaves gathered in the autumn foliage. This picture is also symmetrical and we can feel the depth of a tree–lined road. This is my favorite pic in this homework because I think this pic has a bunch of inspirations. For me, I imagined that there was an old man or woman on the chair. He/she might be looking at the leaves gathered or when he/she was sitting, there is no leaves gathered. Anyway, this pic has some kind of sadness or mysterious atmosphere. Did he/ go back into the soils? Nobody knows. In terms of technique of photography,  this pic is divided into some vertical pieces by the straight lines of the trees and poles. Also, the chair and leaves gathered are on the 1/3 horizontal line from the bottom.
